Dr. Carla M. Pugh is a professor of surgery at Stanford University and is a faculty member of the Department of Surgery’s Division of General Surgery at Stanford Medicine. She is the Director of the Technology Enabled Clinical Improvement Center (TECI Center) at Stanford, which aims to transform human health and welfare through advances in data science and personalized, technology-based performance metrics for healthcare providers. With a strong, unwavering passion for science, technology and education, Dr. Pugh has spent the past seventeen years as an active participant in the development, empirical investigation and implementation of simulation technology for medical and surgical education. As a clinician-investigator, surgeon, scientist, and inventor, Dr. Pugh has developed a keen interest in the use of simulation for clinical skills assessment.
Shane has over 30 years of marketing experience in all facets of healthcare including devices, pharma, patient, biotech, digital health, and managed care/payer markets. With experience on all sides of the very complicated and constantly changing health and technology equation, Shane is able to view challenges and data from multiple angles, typically identifying questions and solutions previously overlooked.
Adhira Sunkara has a doctorate in Biomedical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and experience working with multiple start-ups for the design, development and commercialization of medical devices. As a biomedical engineer, Adhira has a passion for scientific and technological innovation with the ultimate goal of improving patient care in medical practice. To this end, Adhira has worked on a variety of projects, ranging from biomimetic materials, to neuroscience, to medical simulators.
Our newest addition to the team, Cassidi is a marketing and communications specialist. With a passion for healthcare communications, both verbal and written, Cassidi embraces storytelling when articulating the 10 Newtons brand. Cassidi’s background in public relations, strategic communications, entrepreneurship, and journalism fuel her ability to connect the 10 Newtons brand to compelling resources.
